Ready to master the domain that carries half the weight of the entire PMI-CP exam — and protects every project you will ever lead? This focused 1-day workshop is built for construction professionals who want to read contracts with confidence, manage obligations without gaps, handle claims and changes before they escalate, and build a proactive risk management system that works in the real world. At 50% of the PMI-CP exam, Contract and Risk Management is the most critical domain — and the one with the highest real-world stakes. Duvoll Education's framework for this domain is built directly from PMI's Construction Professional standards and covers the full contract and risk lifecycle: understanding and administering construction contracts, managing obligations, monitoring performance, handling changes and claims, ensuring compliance, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks before they become problems. Every concept is grounded in real construction scenarios from the Mid-South — commercial builds, infrastructure projects, healthcare facilities, and government contracts where contract disputes and risk events happen every day. This workshop can be taken as a standalone course or as part of the full PMI-CP Boot Camp pathway. Already experienced in other domains? Take only the domains you need.

Contracts. Claims. Risk. Master All Three in Two Days.

This workshop covers four core modules: Construction Contracts — Types, Terms and Administration; Changes, Claims and Compliance; Risk Identification, Assessment and Response; and Exam Alignment and Application. In Module 1, you will learn the major contract types used in construction — lump sum, cost-plus, GMP, unit price, and design-build — how to read and interpret contract language, administer subcontractor and vendor contracts within the prime contract, and execute proper contract closeout. Module 2 covers change order management, claims handling, and compliance monitoring. Module 3 builds your risk management system from identification through response planning, using tools you can apply on your very next project — including a take-home risk register template. Taught in Memphis by Duvoll Education's PMI-credentialed faculty, every concept is grounded in real construction experience and aligned directly to what appears on the PMI-CP exam.

This course provides 14 PMI Professional Development Units (PDUs), PMI-aligned study materials for Domain IV, a contract interpretation reference guide, a ready-to-use risk register template, and practice questions aligned to the exam domain. A Certificate of Completion from Duvoll Education is included. Counts toward full PMI-CP certification eligibility.

Build Your PMI-CP One Domain at a Time

The PMI-CP certification is the only internationally recognized credential focused specifically on construction project management. Domain IV — Contract and Risk Management — is the highest-weighted domain on the exam and the area where construction professionals at every level stand to gain the most from structured, expert-led training. Complete it as a standalone workshop or combine it with other domains on your path to full PMI-CP certification. Requirements are straightforward: 3 years of experience in construction or built environment projects within the past 10 years. No college degree required.
